​Q: What will I need to bring?​
A: You can never over pack for your outdoor adventure. Bring clothes that will suit all kinds of weather from deep freeze winter to the heat of the summer. You never know what Mother Nature will throw at you. If you forget something, we are minutes from local retail and there is several sporting goods stores nearby....DON'T FORGET YOUR PILLOW!!

Q: What about tips and gratuities?​
A: Industry standard is 10% of the package cost of each of those you feel contributed to your trip in a positive manner. Tips and gratuities are not included nor expected but greatly appreciated!​

Q: What if something happens and can’t make my trip?​
A: We understand there are certain emergencies that would hinder or prevent a client from making their trip possible. We are all human!. We would first try to find an opening within the same season and reschedule your trip. If this is not possible , we will hold a spot the following season for you. A second deposit will NOT be required at that time.​

Q:What about licenses?​
A: You can get all the info about licenses , seasons, and dates on the NYDEC website.  There is a Dick’s Sporting Goods store close buy as well. We will assist you anyway we can. Please visit

Q: What if I wound an animal? 

A: No one wants to wound an animal, but it happens to the best of us. EBH Outfitters will do everything possible to recover your game. If your recovery falls into an extended day or time period from your departure, there will be NO CHARGE for the lay-over. A non recovered animal could result in the end of your hunt pending circumstances. 

 

Q: Is there an airport close buy to fly into?​
A: The city of Plattsburgh, NY has an airport approximately 35 minutes away. If you will be flying in to Plattsburgh then we will provide transportation for your arrival and departure. Please let us know in advance.​

Q: Are there any hidden expenses I need to know about?
A: Probably, but none from us! We do have apparel for sale if you'd like to bring back a souvenir.  There are plenty of things to do in the area if you're looking for something.  There are many types of entertainment close by in Plattsburgh, NY or hop over the border to Montreal Canada and check that out. There are liquor stores and plenty of retail shopping within a short drive as well.​

Q: What about processing my game?​
A: We will skin and de-bone your game at no charge. If you want your game cut and bagged, there will be a charge of $75 or cut, grind and vacuum sealed for $100. We suggest bringing plenty of cooler storage.​

Q: Will my hunting apparel be stored properly?​
A: We strongly suggest you bring your own scent free storage. This will maintain some scent protection.

Q: Do we get a refund if we end our hunt early?​
A: NO! Sorry.  There is a lot of preparation, for you, that goes unnoticed prior to your arrival.​

Q: Do women have separate quarters?​
A: Yes. Women have the option of separate quarters if they are not with a spouse.

Q: Can we bring our own food to perhaps save money?​
A: If savings becomes an issue, I’m sure we can work out a package that will fit your budget. You are certainly welcome to bring your own food, but due to liability issues clients are not allowed to cook on the premises. We would certainly cook anything you bring the best we can based upon your individual needs.​

Q: Can we hunt more than one game species during our stay?​
A: If you fill your tag/s early and have the appropriate tag/license and are within the laws of NYDEC... you may hunt another game animal. We can work details out while you're here.​

Q: What kind of guarantees do you offer?​
A: NONE! We can only strive for "Excellence Beyond the Hunt", and hope you enjoy your stay. We offer no guarantees on a successful hunt...that is why it’s called "HUNTING" and not killing!​

Where are we located?

We are located in the most North Eastern corner of Upstate NY in a small town called Mooers Forks. With Lake Champlain, Plattsburgh and Montreal Canada on our doorstep, there are plenty of activities surrounding our little piece of Game Enriched Heaven. Our Deer Herd and Turkey Flock in this area are both large, healthy and abundant! We are also in a rifle zone designated by NYDEC which allows us more options of game to hunt...now...and in the future. With the presence of black bear, upland birds and coyote, this truly is an area for the avid outdoorsman. Our DEC WMA (Wildlife Management Area) is 5A.

Booking Policy

Because the seasons for each game we intend to pursue is shorter than we all desire, all bookings are based on a first deposit, first serve basis. We do not offer tentative bookings as this is not fair to those who want to commit. All deposits are non-refundable but may be carried over into the next season for which the hunt was intended. (Based on emergency cancellations only).

 

When EBH outfitters is contacted via e-mail, phone or other, we will personally contact you by whatever means you request. A packet will be emailed to you including an application for the hunt you desire, a waiver(s) for your signature in accordance to the hunt/package you chose. It is only after your application and all appropriately signed documents (waivers, etc.) and a deposit of 50% is received by EBH Outfitters will your hunt be secured on our calendar. A confirmation will be sent via e-mail or conventional mail along with a phone call.

Licenses and Tags/Permits

It is your responsibility to acquire the appropriate license/tags/permit according to the game you are going to hunt. EBH Outfitters will not allow any client to enter the field without first presenting that license/tags/permit along with a legal form of identification. If you need help acquiring a license/tag/permit after you arrive, please let us know in advance. For all the info you need on licensing, visit the New York State Department of Conservation website.

Paperwork

It is your responsibility to fill out the appropriate paperwork and mail it back to us before your stay with us. Please download the form applicable to you and mail them back as soon as you can.
